As many of you know, Christoph Hess, long-standing CUKC secretary, was awarded the Bob Poynton Memorial Trophy for the 2021-2022 year. Unfortunately he was in Japan at the annual dinner, and thus missed out on the presentation.

After training yesterday, where 3 OKA were training alongside current students, we headed out for dinner to celebrate with Christoph and present the award. Paul Smith, as outgoing OKA Officer, reiterated the qualities of Bob Poynton that the Unsung Hero award is intended to embody: making karate work behind the scenes, and a quiet dedication to training.
