Jacus de Beer - Club Instructors

2nd Dan SA JKA Karate

Jacus de Beer started training karate in South Africa when he was 9 years old and graded to junior black belt in Tenshinkan karate at the age of 16.
Three years after a serious knee injury, he started training again as a white belt, this time in Shotokan, with the South African JKA and eventually graded to Nidan under Stan Schmidt Sensei in Cape Town. Jacus has trained with and instructed classes on three continents and is a firm believer in the words of the founder of Shotokan Karate, Gichin Funakoshi: "The ultimate aim of the art of karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants."
