KUGB National Championships 2006

Competition Report

CUKC competed at the National Championships of the Karate Union of Great Britain on Sunday 21st May.

In the impressive stadium of the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham the senior men's team of Konrad Rajab (Mens Captain), Ian MacLeod and Donatas Jurkevicius won their first round match convincingly but then lost a hard fought match and retired gracefully without injury.

In the individual kata Donatas proceeded through several rounds as did Ian in individual kumite.

The star performance of the day however was produced by Donatas who convincingly beat all opponents which included two members of the English National team that won the Junior team kumite in last years European Championships.

Donatas is now the KUGB under 21 years men's British individual kumite champion.

This is a truly outstanding result for both Donatas and CUKC.
